I can deliver seasoned hardwood logs to addresses in Croydon and Bromley. All wood is harvested in the Croydon and Bromley area and is hand spilt so the carbon footprint couldn’t be smaller.
Wood is brought from the site to my yard in Farleigh where it is ringed and split within a few days. It is then stacked into ventilated covered stores and left to season for a minimum of two years. The majority of the wood is either Ash or Oak, but there will also be various other species including Beech, Hornbeam, Birch etc (NO SOFT WOOD). These are all premium species for burning in log burners and open fires. The moisture content is typically between 10 to 15%, minimising soot build up in your chimney or chimney liner and keeping airborne combustible particulates to a minimum. Properly seasoned wood will also make it far easier to control your fire, and will also keep the viewing window clear.
Most of my clients order by the ton bag (£120), but I can also supply larger amounts on request – a truckload of approximately 5 tons bags is £500. Loads are tipped onto your driveway, but we can amble them into your log store for an additional fee if required.
